Parenting Support in New York City

We know that this is a huge, often difficult decision. We want you to feel confident and supported in whatever decision you make, and so we are committed to equipping you with the parenting resources you need if you choose parenting or adoption.  


Avail NYC is here for you. We're located in Midtown Manhattan and we are always available online via Zoom.

  • What resources does Avail offer?

    We can connect you to a host of free and affordable reources. These include, but are not limited to: 

    • help getting insurance
    • accessing free medical care
    • a personal nurse to help answer your questions and support you one-on-one
    • Avail's pregnancy/infant-care and parenting classes

  • Can anyone access these resources?

    Anyone who has received decision-making services from Avail and has decided to parent or particiapte in the adoption process can participate in our free classes.

  • Are Avail parenting classes one-on-one or in groups?

    Both! We offer one-on-one support as well as group classes for expectant parents. 


    These classes are led by volunteers who are experts in their field, and cover topics like labor & delivery, breastfeeding, and postpartum wellness. Besides learning some new skills, you’ll have the opportunity to meet and connect with other New Yorkers like you who are navigating parenthood.

Feel prepared and supported to parent or participate in the adoption process

We know there are many practical and emotional concerns that arise during pregnancy and parenting. Resources like medical care are essential. It’s hard to find a doctor, especially if you don’t have insurance. You have resources and options, and we are happy to explore them with you.

  • How do I know I won’t be pushed to make a certain decision?

    Our goal is to listen to your thoughts and concerns. We will share with you the tools and resources we have, and provide encouragement. You’re in control of what you share and the decision you make.

  • How much can I share with my client advocate?

    You’re in control. You can share as much or as little about your situation as you want. Your client advocate is here to listen to you and support you.

  • What if I choose abortion? Will I be judged? Will I be turned away?

    You are welcome here. This is a safe, judgment-free place to share how you’re feeling. After an abortion, many of our clients want to talk about what they experienced and what’s going through their mind now.
