Community Support

Safe Families NYC

If you're looking for a supportive community to surround you with friendship and encouragement or if you've ever felt lonely, isolated or overwhelmed as a parent, Safe Families NYC is for you.

Safe Families believes that every parent needs and deserves support. Parenting is hard. Parenting during a pandemic is even harder. To help keep families strong, they offer connection to safe, supportive relationships for parents who want that in their lives.

During the pandemic, they're offering a "Connect Friends" to parents who would like to be matched with a volunteer who will commit to call them once a week for the next 3 months - just to talk, provide a listening ear, and offer encouragement and support to parents in reaching their short term goals. Some volunteers  feel comfortable meeting in person, especially if that is what you need.
